Invenia ABUS 2.0 was the first FDA-approved ultrasound supplemental screening system designed specifically for detecting cancer in dense breast tissue. Over 40% of women have dense breast tissue, which can mask tumours and limit mammographic performance; mammography may miss more than a third of cancers in dense breasts, and dense tissue itself raises the likelihood of developing cancer several times over. Published data show screening with ABUS increased the relative cancer detection rate by 57% while keeping the recall rate almost stable at 2.3%. The system combines the ABUS 2.0 cSound Imageformer, intelligent imaging algorithms, one-button automation with an icon-driven touchscreen, the Reverse Curve transducer, the Invenia ABUS Viewer and AI Assistant capability.
